STAY TUNED gallery and Zannier Hotels Le Chalet, nestled in the village of Megève, facing the white peaks of the Mont Blanc mountain range, are joining forces for the winter of 2024 to present TEXTURES – an off-the-beaten-path exhibition featuring four established and emerging women artists, each exploring the importance of the medium, texture and light within their compositions. Exhibition from December 15th, 2023 to April 2nd, 2024.
Taking place in the heart of a unique and charming alpine architecture and highlighting the importance of the material through the immaculate white peaks, the exhibition is the first major exhibition dealing with this subject to be curated in the premises. It aims to answer a enssential question:
Art is material and is made of matter. However, is there a limit to the creation of matter?
To address this query, STAY TUNED gave carte blanche to four talented female artists. Their task was to re-imagine various artistic mediums, providing fresh perspectives, in order to redefine and transform interior spaces, keeping the minimalist philosophy and simplicity. Each artist was asked to give their personal interpretation of the notion of material and to draw inspiration from the space in which their work was going to be exhibit, in order to tanscribe textures, mediums and lights, essential to their creation.
Celebrating material and making, these artists used the storytelling power of textures and medium in their compostions to connect with past traditions, find commonalities between cultures, travels, time and place, and to breathe stories into materials. The exhibition will present works by artists Adeline HALOT, Tiffany BOUELLE, Mélinda INFANTES and Meryl YANA. The material and its evolution are a constant research for the artists. It was therefore essential for them to take possession of the space while being aware of this aspect and adapting to the hotel architecture. The artists have imposed a single rule on themselves; to arouse the curiosity of the guests by offering them a transforming experience in seeing light.
